Join Us
We are a friendly and welcoming choral society and are always delighted to receive applications from singers for membership. You can try us out for free at any time, but it is helpful if you join in time for the start of a new term. Previous choral singing is an advantage but not essential. There are no formal auditions but we would prefer it if you could let us know in advance when you would like to attend rehearsals. Very occasionally we may need to review new membership to maintain balanced quality singing, so the different voice harmonies blend to create something extraordinary. We offer a varied repertoire that is both challenging and enjoyable and our aim is for the choir to have fun rehearsing and to produce a beautiful sound in the concerts we give.
When and Where to Find Us
The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 at Swansfield Park Primary School, The Avenue, Alnwick, NE66 1UL. Please click on link to access Google Maps.
Membership Subscription
COME AND JOIN US
- You are very welcome to attend our rehearsals for a trial period of up to one month to decide if Alnwick and District Choral Society is for you.
- If you’d like to join us, or have any questions about membership of the choir, please contact Pamela Hossick by clicking on the button below and completing the request form.
ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP
- ADCS Annual Membership is £125.
- Our Choir Year starts in September and payment is due by October 15th each year, to allow members to vote in the Annual General Meeting.
- For those who join mid-year, an appropriate pro-rata subscription can be arranged
YOUR SUBSCRIPTION INCLUDES
- Music hire and use of music folder
- Weekly choir rehearsals led by highly renowned musical director and accompanists
- Concerts and performances, usually 4 per year, often with professional soloists and instrumentalists
